Welcome to PlanChop. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PlanChop recipe organizer ("Service"), operated by PlanChop ("we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use PlanChop.
A human-readable summary - not a substitute for the full terms below.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use PlanChop. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including any passkeys registered to your devices. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
PlanChop allows you to create or join a household. When you do so, your saved recipes and personalization preferences become visible to other household members, and recipe imports made by any member count toward the household owner's import allowance. You are responsible for ensuring that everyone you invite to your household consents to this data sharing. The household owner is responsible for managing membership.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to exploit the Service. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
PlanChop is a recipe organization convenience tool, not a medical or dietary professional.
PlanChop uses artificial intelligence to personalize recipes, swap ingredients and sides, estimate nutrition, generate food photography, and assist with support inquiries. You acknowledge and agree that:
Cook Mode provides step-by-step cooking assistance using several device capabilities. Each requires your explicit browser permission and can be revoked at any time through your browser settings.
Cook Mode can listen for voice commands using your device's microphone via the Web Speech API. Microphone access requires your explicit browser permission. Audio is processed locally by your browser and is not recorded or transmitted to our servers.
Cook Mode can read recipe steps aloud using your device's built-in speech synthesis. No audio data is sent to external services.
While Cook Mode is active, we request a screen wake lock to prevent your device from sleeping so you can follow along hands-free. This is released automatically when you exit Cook Mode.
Interactive cooking timers run in your browser. Timer notifications depend on your device's notification and audio settings. We are not responsible for missed timers due to device settings, browser limitations, or connectivity issues.
PlanChop can extract recipe content from URLs you provide, including web pages and video links (such as TikTok and YouTube). This extraction is automated and performed solely at your direction for your personal use within the application. You are responsible for ensuring your use of imported content complies with the source website's terms of service and applicable copyright law. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of extracted recipe data.
You may generate public links to share recipes with others outside of PlanChop. Anyone with the link can view the shared recipe without creating an account. You are responsible for the content you choose to share publicly.
PlanChop connects to third-party payment processors and recipe sources. Regarding these integrations:
PlanChop is free to try with up to 3 personalized recipe imports, every feature included. After that, a paid subscription ("Pro") is required to import additional recipes. Feature availability is described on our pricing page and may change over time. We will notify you of material changes to your current plan.
Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at each renewal period until you cancel. All prices are in US dollars unless otherwise stated.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you can still view, cook, and re-personalize the recipes you have already imported. Importing additional recipes requires an active subscription.
We generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. However, if you experience a significant service issue or believe you were charged in error, contact us via our within 14 days of the charge. We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. We are happy to resolve billing issues directly. Accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be suspended until the dispute is settled.
The PlanChop application, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by PlanChop and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our written consent.
You retain ownership of any content you create or import into PlanChop, including custom recipes and notes. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service to you.
Recipes imported from external sources remain the intellectual property of their original creators. PlanChop stores imported recipes for your personal use within the application. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of imported content complies with applicable copyright laws.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these rules without prior notice and to suspend or terminate the accounts of repeat offenders.
Support requests are initially processed by AI to provide faster responses and route complex issues appropriately. AI-generated support responses may not always be accurate. You can request human review at any time.
Our support system uses a tiered approach: initial AI response, AI-assisted escalation for complex issues, and human administrator review when needed. Pro subscribers receive priority support with faster response times.
Authorized administrators may access your account in a supervised impersonation mode only when you have requested assistance via a support ticket, or when strictly necessary for security or maintenance purposes. This access is logged for audit purposes, limited to what is necessary to resolve the issue, and administrators cannot modify your data during impersonation without your explicit consent.
PlanChop is under active development. We may add, modify, disable, or remove features at any time. For features available in the free preview, changes may occur without prior notice. For features included in a paid subscription, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before removing or materially degrading a feature included in your subscription. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or uptime. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
You may request an export of your personal data at any time by contacting us via our . We will provide your data in a reasonable format, typically within 30 days of the request. Individual recipes can also be exported as PDF from the recipe menu. This right exists independently of your account status; you may request an export before or after account deletion.
PlanChop uses a single authentication cookie to keep you signed in and browser local storage to remember UI preferences. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies. We may use your browser's timezone setting to suggest default measurement units and temperature preferences, which you can change at any time in your account settings.
